"My name is Jessie Napier and I am the production assistant at The Film Posse, a production company in Boston. We recently started work on a two-hour documentary about the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War for the PBS history series AMERICAN EXPERIENCE. We are honored to have the opportunity to tell this important story and share it with a wide audience on public television.

We are currently in the research phase of our project, and are very interested in finding North Korean refugees who may have experiences to share from the Hungnam evacuation in December of 1950. While researching organizations within the US, I came across the National Coalition for the Divided Families. It is a wonderful organization, and I had the pleasure of viewing the documentary you appear in. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you to find out more information about your story and to see if you have suggestions for locating individuals who escaped North Korea during the Hungnam evacuation that might be willing to share their stories with us. In particular, we would be interested in connecting with refugees that came down from the region of the Chosin Reservoir while the UN troops were pulling back to the coast.
